About This
- Classic sweet beetroot + greens, Detroit Dark Red, a dependable heirloom table beet (Beta vulgaris); deep red, round roots with strong tops; great for roasting, salads, pickling, and storage
- 250 seeds can produce about 30-90 LBS under good conditions. Great for roasting, salads, slicing, pickling, meal prep, and sautéed beet greens; ideal for raised beds, in-ground rows, and container gardens. Results vary with spacing, thinning, weather, and care.
- Sprouting Made Simple - Direct sow outdoors in early spring when the ground is workable, drop 1 seed capsule every 2-3 inches, 1/2-1 inch deep, keep evenly moist; optional soak 8-24 hours first, then thin to 3-4 inches (more than one sprout per spot is normal). Aim for about 45-75°F weather. If temps are outside that range, start indoors under lights. Expect sprouts in 5-20 days.
- Grow Guide - Full sun; space 3-4 inches; height 12-16 inches. Grow best about 60-70°F weather. Tolerates about 40-85°F weather (root quality is best in cooler weather).
- Premium waterproof packaging, helps protect seeds from humidity and splashes during storage and handling; clear, beginner-friendly guidance on packet and in the listing. Includes seeds (not live plants).
